Peace Begins with Sharing: Winter Relief Efforts in Bangladesh

Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) carried out a winter relief volunteer activity on January 10 in Dorcipara Village, Khagrachari District, Chittagong, Bangladesh. A total of 110 people participated in this initiative, sharing warmth with local residents by distributing winter clothing and educational supplies.
The Khagrachari district in the Chittagong region is a mountainous region with poor transportation conditions, making it difficult for residents to access basic necessities. In particular, temperatures drop significantly during the winter season, worsening the shortage of warm clothing. In addition, due to economic hardships, many children and adolescents are unable to obtain sufficient basic educational supplies. Therefore, the provision of winter clothing and educational materials is essential to improve residents’ living conditions and improving the educational environment.

This volunteer activity was carried out in cooperation with HWPL Global Branch 03 and the Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation. It was organized to support local residents who are facing difficulties in their livelihoods and living conditions. The activity was led by Banarup Barua, President of the Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation, who is also a participant in the HWPL International Religious Peace Academy (IRPA). Based on the content of Lessons 1, 4, and 10 of the HWPL Peace Education curriculum, he has consistently carried out humanitarian support activities for vulnerable communities. By putting the values of peace into practice within the local community, he has expanded a culture of volunteerism and contributed to creating a safe and harmonious living environment in the region.
Banarup Barua, President of the Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation, stated that the collaboration was possible because Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation and HWPL share the same goal of realizing peace. He shared his thoughts, saying, “I am very happy to be able to work together with HWPL on the international stage. I believe HWPL will continue to support many more volunteer activities in the future. We are one!”

On the day of the volunteer activity, many volunteers participated, ensuring the smooth distribution of supplies. A session introducing HWPL was also held, sharing the purpose and vision of its peace initiatives with local residents and organization representatives. Through this, the event went beyond material support and became an opportunity to practice peace together within the community.
Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation is a local NGO that has long carried out humanitarian aid as well as educational and welfare activities, mainly in the Chittagong region. With a deep understanding of the local situation and established trust with residents, the organization has consistently provided practical support to those in need. Based on a shared vision of peace and humanitarian values, HWPL is collaborating with Bangladesh Shibalee Manobik Foundation to deliver more effective and sustainable assistance to local communities.
