The National Youth Council of Fiji (NYCF) is a nationwide representative body established to represent the voices of Fijian youth and promote their participation and development. In collaboration with government agencies, civil society, and international organizations, the NYCF advances a range of youth policies and programs aimed at empowering young people to become agents of social change.

The NYCF operates through 15 branches, covering Fiji’s 14 provinces and the island of Rotuma. The organization is governed through a democratic decision-making structure led by 30 representatives, consisting of 15 regional representatives and 15 sectoral representatives. Based on this structure, the NYCF gathers diverse perspectives from young people across the country and works to ensure that youth voices are reflected in both community initiatives and national policymaking.

In addition, the NYCF focuses on eight core areas to support a sustainable future for Fiji’s youth: education and capacity building, greater youth participation in decision-making, employment and livelihood support, equitable access to services, preservation of traditional culture and heritage, sports and recreation, environmental sustainability, and youth health promotion. Through these efforts, the council supports young people in actively contributing to community development and growing into socially responsible next-generation leaders.

As part of these efforts, the NYCF and IPYG jointly launched the “TripleC Project” to strengthen digital capacity and expand social participation among Fijian youth. Although young people in Fiji are actively involved in addressing social issues, they have faced limitations in the digital content creation skills needed to effectively communicate and promote their activities.

To address this, the “TripleC Project” focused on enhancing digital competencies through training in AI and digital content creation tools. Participants took part in hands-on sessions where they planned and produced their own promotional content, building their capacity to communicate their voices and initiatives more effectively.

The “TripleC Project” has laid the foundation for Fijian youth to grow as leaders in the digital era and contribute to social development. Moving forward, the NYCF plans to continue its wide range of activities in cooperation with approximately 600 to 800 youth clubs across the country, supporting Fijian youth in building a sustainable future.
