Bemasoandro Cultural Festival: Unity in Diversity, A Celebration of Faith and Peace

On June 21 in Bemasoandro, Madagascar, a special program titled “Unity in Diversity: A Celebration of Faith and Peace” was held alongside the Bemasoandro Cultural Festival. Co-hosted by the city of Bemasoandro, the Islamic organization UMMI (Union Mouballighs Malagasy Ithna-anshari), and HWPL, the event gathered 401 participants.

This was the first time a city-hosted festival highlighted the theme of religious peace, creating a platform for harmony among diverse religions and local communities.

Sheikh Hamed Ibrahim of UMMI Madagascar stated:
“The purpose of this event is connection, mutual understanding, respect, and knowledge-sharing, especially promoting peaceful coexistence among different faiths. We aim to truly understand the meaning of unity in every way. Our goal is to establish peace and security on our island and across the world. To achieve this, we hope many will come to understand the beliefs of others. Let us unite to build a new society—one where peace thrives in diversity, where God’s love reigns, and where tranquility and progress can flourish.”

Community and religious leaders pledged to work together with HWPL for future peace initiatives, with the city of Bemasoandro expressing that HWPL’s presence made a deep and positive impression on the community.

Building on this success, HWPL plans to host additional interfaith peace events in other cities across Madagascar, continuing its efforts to spread a culture of peace rooted in mutual respect and understanding.
