HWPL and SOHAS Charity Establish Official Partnership for Peace in Sydney, Australia
On March 22, 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light) and SOHAS Charity at the “Together in Harmony: Uniting for Peace” event held at the Granville Centre in Sydney. The MOU outlines both organizations’ commitment to advancing humanitarian projects and community-based initiatives aimed at promoting peace locally and globally. This partnership is expected to serve as a foundation for more practical and sustainable peace efforts.
SOHAS Charity is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting homeless individuals, asylum seekers, international students, migrants, and community elders—especially those who struggle to access basic necessities such as food and groceries in the midst of the pandemic crisis. Through this new collaboration, HWPL and SOHAS Charity aim to combine their strengths in peace advocacy and community support, working together to implement inclusive programs that foster social harmony and uplift vulnerable populations.
During the event, HWPL Sydney officially appointed Mr. Moses Vedamuthu and Ms. Marilie Bomediano as Deputy Branch Managers, reinforcing leadership capacity for peace initiatives in the region. A panel discussion was also held under the theme of citizen-led legislative peace programs, addressing topics such as the role of local governments, interfaith dialogue, refugee integration, and the importance of human rights education.
With the signing of this MOU, HWPL plans to expand its peace-building activities through close collaboration with SOHAS Charity. Together, the two organizations will pursue joint projects and promote community engagement, aiming to develop a practical model for peace that can be applied both in Australia and beyond.
